THE PERSON BEHIND SMARTQT
Built by a small-business owner.
BUILT FROM SMALL-BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
A note from Kenneth Strickland.

I was born in Texas and raised in California. I started at the bottom, working in several trades alongside hardworking people. Over the years, I worked my way into supervisor and management roles, and eventually owned my own business.
SmartQT started as an idea: small-business owners should be able to organize their work without spending a fortune on apps. From running a lawn and landscaping business, I know the work doesn’t end when the tools are packed away. There are still quotes, invoices and expenses to keep up with.
I built SmartQT to keep those everyday records together at an affordable, clear monthly price. My goal is to give people useful tools they can understand and use, whether they’re just starting out or have been running a business for years.
What SmartQT is here to do
Help small-business owners create quotes and invoices, keep customer and job records, and review income and manual expenses in one account. Start with your own products or services, or choose an optional trade calculator.
SmartQT is an early-stage web app. It is not full accounting, tax preparation, payroll, a restaurant register or an automated lead-generation service.

Subscription payments and data
Stripe handles subscription checkout and card details. SmartQT uses Supabase for account sign-in and saved business records, Cloudflare for hosting, and HeyCatch for usage analytics. Do not enter sensitive personal information in job notes.
Usage analytics has text and element-attribute masking enabled and respects Do Not Track. Account identity and selected app events may be sent to HeyCatch. We do not send quote contents or customer names as custom marketing-event properties.
